USDA's Prospective Plantings Report

The 2012 Prospective Plantings report published by USDA's National Ag Statistics Service was released today.  USDA estimates planted Winter Wheat acreage in California at 670,000 acres, up 10,000 acres from their Winter Wheat Seedings report in January and equal to last year's planted acreage.  Durum wheat plantings are estimated at 140,000 acres; no change from the January 2012 report.
