California USDA's 2013 Winter wheat production forecast increased 6% from July, and 10% above 2012, due to a 20,000 acre increase in estimated grain harvested. Total production is estimated at 867,000 tons. The Durum production forecast was unchanged from July 2013, remaining at 256,000 tons.
Total wheat and durum production in California is estimated to be 1,123,500 tons, down 8% from last year.
