The 2015 Prospective Plantings report published by USDA's National Ag Statistics Service was released today. Acreage seeded to Winter wheat is forecast at 430 thousand acres in California, down 7 percent from last year and 20,000 acres less than USDA's January 2015 estimate. Another 60.0 thousand acres have been seeded to Durum wheat, 71 percent above the amount planted in 2014 and 20,000 more acres than their January report.
