USDA releases Crop Production Report, as of May 1 Posted on 5/12/2015
Today, USDA released the year's first report of estimated wheat production. At 420,000 tons, California's Winter Wheat production is 97% of last year. Although harvested acreage is slightly up, yield is estimated 13% lower. Durum production is estimated to have doubled from last year, for a net 13% increase in grain production.
